Ok, lets get real. Having an optimal healthy weight does feel good ! I will not deny that.
But this quote does not mention health… instead it says :
‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’
So my question here is what does SKINNY feels like ? Can someone describe this ?
Skinny means in shape? No.
Skinny means healthy ? No.
How do we define what skinny feels like? I wonder..
Maybe this quote would be more accurate if it said :
‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny LOOKS’.
Hmm. I find that debatable. What looks good is a confident, stylish, healthy person. But that is just my opinion..
But still, I have some other questions.
NOTHING tastes good as skinny looks? Nothing ? Not even a fruit salad ? A piece of bread with my meal ? what about a yogurt ? What about food in general ?!?
So skipping a meal is ok because it will look good ?
Having a headache, feeling slow and sick is ok because it looks good ?
Hmm.. doesn’t sound like a plan…
And… it’s very confusing!
I find that these type of ‘quotes’ encourage people to do whatever it takes to lose weight.
You are then swindled into harsh diets that often don’t benefit you at all, but instead do more harm than good.
This image above shows that there is just about anything available out there! I don’t know about you but : ‘Be skinny fast’ sounds scary to me. Maybe it’s because I worked with anorexics for a while.. and it reminds me of that extremely unhealthy mindset.
Actually in one of these top 3 results I read this here (So i was right with my impression!)
Ok, so maybe you are not this extreme!
By using a quote like this one to motivate yourself, you will not get to this point! (I hope)
BUT however, you are still most definitely going in the wrong direction.
You know why ?
Because too often, health doesn’t seem part of the equation!
According to the quote :
If you are on a no carb diet you should think to yourself:
Fruits don’t taste as good as skinny looks.
And then if you are on a low carb diet you should be motivating yourself saying :
Whole grain bread does not feel as good as skinny looks.
If you are on a no sugar diet then your motivational speech would sound like this:
My birthday cake doesn’t taste as good as skinny looks.
And then if you are on a low calorie diet is it ok to think :
Eating my lunch today won’t taste as good as skinny feels ?
This quote is simply not the right mindset for a successful and long-term healthy and fit life.
Lets be clear : Fit and healthy feels good, skinny and sick doesn’t !
So if we really had to write a quote, the most accurate one would be :
“No crappy food tastes as good as healthy feels”.
This one would be much much better. It will help you avoid taking bad decisions.
