How many pounds a week should you lose for a healthy weight loss?
Fast weight loss is obviously what people want the most. Who would choose to have something later if they could have it now ? Obviously, no one ! While this is a natural preference, it is not always the best one.
We live in a world of INSTANTS. Instant oatmeal, instant popcorn, instant hot meals, instant everything.
So obviously we expect instant weight loss and the industry knows that.
Now what you should do, is ask yourself : And then what ? What happens once I’ve lost the weight ?
Will I continue eating this way the rest of my life ? Will I be able to maintain this diet ? These food changes ? Will I be able to avoid bread, dessert or fries for the rest of my life ?
If the answer is no, then…
Unfortunately this only means one thing : you will slowly see each pound you lost come back… and most probably more than when you started.
And you know what ? Chances are that your self-esteem is going to take a hit too.
So while I could tell you so much more about what a healthy weight loss is, in this post I will stick to how many pounds it is considred normal to lose per week.
In a healthy weight loss process you do not lose more than 1 to 2 pounds of weight per week. Of course this should be mainly fat which is something you do not see just with a scale.
For example, you could have the impression that nothing is happening because from one week to another you don’t read any weight loss on the scale. But how do you know what really happened in your body in such a short term ?
Maybe you have lost 2 pounds of fat and gained 2 pounds of muscle ?
Being very narrow-minded about your weight will only make you lose track of your health.
And really, all of the fast weight loss articles are just lies. Check this one out :
